Buhari is not the man who will take us to the promised land-professor AFEJUKU


Touy Afejuku, a professor of English and literature at university of benin, has said that Nigerians must not hope too much to be taken to the promise land, by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.

The former Asuu leader in a discuss with vanguard, said the corruption of the pre-Buhari ascendancy is still very much around; the plague cannot be wished away just because Buhari has been fumigating every where that his anti-corruption nostrits direct him to.

Judge gives Nnamdi Kanu 12 conditions for bail                           Nnamdi Kaun The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday admitted the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to bail on health grounds. In a brief ruling, Justice Binta Nyako, said that she was convinced that Kanu was ill and needed more medical attention than the Nigerian Prisons was giving him. “The first defendant, Nnamdi Kanu, has appealed to the court for bail based on health grounds and it is only the living that can stand trial. “So I am minded to grant him bail so that he can attend to his health and face his trial alive,” Justice Nyako said. She, however, gave 12 conditions which Mr. Kanu must fulfill to be released on bail, and to continue to enjoy the temporary freedom. The conditions are: — Mr. Kanu must not hold rallies. — He must not grant interviews. — He must not be in a crowd of more than 10 people....
Two die, others injured as building collapses in Lagos LAGOS—Tragedy struck yesterday, after part of a two-storey building under construction at NICON Town Estate, off Admiralty Way in Lekki area of Lagos, collapsed, killing two persons— Tasiu Tanko and Abdulai Usman—who were construction workers. Another worker, Yakuub, who sustained severe injuries, is still being attended to by doctors at the intensive care unit of an undisclosed hospital. That work was ongoing at the site when part of the building caved in, trapping the workers.
