Biafra: what we told Nnamdi Kanu before he agreed to leave Kuje prison – IPOB lawyer, Maxwell Opara

Lawyer to the Indigenous People of Biafra, Barr. Maxwell Opara, has revealed how he and other notable Igbo leaders pleaded with IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu to sign his bail.
The human rights activist said that Nnamdi kanu refused to accept his bail initially but they begged him to accept it because of his health.
In a message he shared on his twitter handle, he wrote, “Kanu refused to sign his bail. He said he won’t go unless his co-accused are released.
“We had to beg him, his co-accused had to beg to go because he is really sick. We told him it is a man who is alive that can fight for self determination.
The lawyer further stated that some of the bail conditions given to Nnamdi kanu are against his rights.
He added, “Some of those bail conditions given to Nnamdi Kanu go against the principle of fundamental human rights.
“I’m not his direct counsel but I’m sure my colleague will change that in court soon. The struggle continues.”
Nnamdi Kanu was last Tuseday granted bail by a Federal High Court in Abuja led by Justice Binta Nyako.
He, however, met his bail condition , and land left Kuje prison, Abuja, later in the week.

Judge gives Nnamdi Kanu 12 conditions for bail                           Nnamdi Kaun The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday admitted the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to bail on health grounds. In a brief ruling, Justice Binta Nyako, said that she was convinced that Kanu was ill and needed more medical attention than the Nigerian Prisons was giving him. “The first defendant, Nnamdi Kanu, has appealed to the court for bail based on health grounds and it is only the living that can stand trial. “So I am minded to grant him bail so that he can attend to his health and face his trial alive,” Justice Nyako said. She, however, gave 12 conditions which Mr. Kanu must fulfill to be released on bail, and to continue to enjoy the temporary freedom. The conditions are: — Mr. Kanu must not hold rallies. — He must not grant interviews. — He must not be in a crowd of more than 10 people....
