Nnamdi Kanu: We still await justice – Igbo group An Igbo socio-cultural association, Nzuko Umunna, has warned against the further abuse of the rights of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Independent People of Biafra, IPOB even as it expressed satisfaction that Kanu has been released after a protracted detention by the federal government. In a statement signed by the association’s Coordinator, Ngozi Odumuko, and the Secretary, Paschal Mbanefo, the group lamented the stringent conditions attached to the bail conditions of the IPOB leader and expressed happiness that it was eventually met. Two die, others injured as building collapses in Lagos LAGOS—Tragedy struck yesterday, after part of a two-storey building under construction at NICON Town Estate, off Admiralty Way in Lekki area of Lagos, collapsed, killing two persons— Tasiu Tanko and Abdulai Usman—who were construction workers. Another worker, Yakuub, who sustained severe injuries, is still being attended to by doctors at the intensive care unit of an undisclosed hospital. That work was ongoing at the site when part of the building caved in, trapping the workers. The deceased, according to eyewitnesses, were brought out of the debris dead, while others were rescued with varying degrees of injuries.                         The building Residents of the area were said to have thronged the scene to help in rescuing those under the debris, until the arrival of rescue workers from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and policemen. Judge gives Nnamdi Kanu 12 conditions for bail                           Nnamdi Kaun The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday admitted the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to bail on health grounds. In a brief ruling, Justice Binta Nyako, said that she was convinced that Kanu was ill and needed more medical attention than the Nigerian Prisons was giving him. “The first defendant, Nnamdi Kanu, has appealed to the court for bail based on health grounds and it is only the living that can stand trial. “So I am minded to grant him bail so that he can attend to his health and face his trial alive,” Justice Nyako said. She, however, gave 12 conditions which Mr. Kanu must fulfill to be released on bail, and to continue to enjoy the temporary freedom. The conditions are: — Mr. Kanu must not hold rallies. — He must not grant interviews. — He must not be in a crowd of more than 10 people. — He must provide three sureties in the sum of N100 million ea
